Devon Hotel – Pressed Bullnose Fascia

A large prominent landmark project that had the need for a nonstandard roof line finish which concealed roof edge and guttering.

Our brief was to attend site and discuss what would be achievable considering the finish, lay of the roof and economical use of material and the forming constraints of the product material.

Our material choice was 1050 grade 2mm aluminium powder coated one side.

Working with the contractor a nominal length was agreed on and the variation of elevations would be accommodated in the manufacture of the corner pressings.

All parts were incrementally folded on our 150 tonne Edwards Pearson press brake. We produced a sample which was offered for site checking along with a once fix internal under strap. The pressing was self-supporting being fixed to a rear angle (roof) and an additional closer piece (wall) this enabled the accuracy of the pressed parts fitted to maintain their regular shape.

External, internal corners and end stops were all part of our brief for fabrication.

Once sizes were agreed the corners were formed using pattern development. Sheet metal skill and experience from our staff was important within this process to achieve the required finish.
